The concrete church could not come into its own better than against the lush greenery in which it is embedded.
Richard Döcker inscribed the church in a circle in 1969, following the principle of the central building. This imaginary geometry provides the deliberately fragmented building envelope with an overarching framework and support.
The already painted exposed concrete surface inside the church is repainted in graduated shades of grey, so that the wall surface gradually brightens towards the altar.
Small, low-hanging pendant lights illuminate the interior and trace both the fragmented wooden ceiling and the suspended concrete roof, which lies over the church interior like a protective cloth. This gives the church interior a new sense of festivity.
