Ten vineyard cottages are the starting point for an investigation into the nature of architectural projects. The vineyard cottages, as the ‘original huts’ of the winegrowers, reveal their individual expressiveness on closer inspection and at the same time with a blurred view. Plan and model as fundamental tools of the architect are means of abstraction that enable a clarifying distance to the object under consideration. Architectural potential grasped through empathy is realised through reinterpretation. An idea is seen from its original state and carried into a fictitious project in order to appear anew and yet related: a speculation.
