We are delighted that the remodelling of the Oekolampad parish hall is part of the following exhibition:

Was War Werden Könnte: Experimente zwischen Denkmalpflege und Architektur› (5 April - 14 September 2025)

‘Preservation is progressive: In the current debate about the building revolution, the preservation and maintenance of existing buildings play a central role. Converting or repurposing an existing building is much more resource-efficient than a comparable new build. The nature of architecture is changing accordingly - where previously the focus was on new construction, building in existing buildings is now seen as the future of the discipline. Against this backdrop, the theory and practice of heritage conservation is taking on a new urgency. This discipline has always seen existing buildings as a valuable resource and has developed various methods and approaches to carefully transfer the existing into the future. What can be learned from this approach and what new impulses can arise from an in-depth dialogue between heritage conservation and architecture?

The exhibition takes the 50th anniversary of the European Monument Preservation Year 1975 as an opportunity to look at the past, present and future of monument preservation and to explore new possibilities for cooperation with architecture.’ Text source: S AM
